Description
Antioxidant masterbatch: Antioxidant masterbatch can increase the oxidation induction time of materials, improve initial colour, and enhance colour stability.
Antioxidant masterbatch is an organic compound that slows down and prevents the oxidative degradation of polymers. By using antioxidant masterbatch, degradation manifested as fading, changes in viscosity, surface cracking, and alterations in physical and light-related properties can be avoided. These issues typically arise from prolonged exposure of polymers to outdoor environments. Antioxidant masterbatches extend the service life of products. Antioxidant masterbatches are a new type of additive masterbatch that integrates active oxygen barrier technology, providing optimal protection for sensitive packaged goods against oxidative degradation, making them an ideal packaging additive.
Antioxidant masterbatches provide excellent antioxidant performance for PET packaging such as non-woven fabrics, plastic bottles, and films over the long term, without affecting transparency or PET recyclability. Antioxidant masterbatches consist of a catalyst and an oxidisable matrix, uniformly dispersed within the polymer matrix of the packaging wall. Antioxidant masterbatches are particularly suitable for lightweight, thin-walled, and single-layer packaging, as the food within such packaging requires greater protection against oxygen ingress.
